Description
Position Purpose: Conduct business process analyses, needs assessments and preliminary cost/benefit analyses to align operations solutions with business initiatives. Prepare functional, system and program specifications. Provide management support in review of various internal/external reports/data. Aid with testing efforts and may provide security administration to applications supported by area when the appropriate written and approved request is received.
Logistics
This position will be fully onsite at 26 Century Blvd, Suite ST610, Nashville, TN 37214, with potential to move into a hybrid work schedule in the future. This is subject to change based off of employee performance and/or business need.
What You’ll Do:
- Evaluate the activities, performance, and systems within a specific area for standards and workflow simplification. Compile data for analysis and prepares reports and presentations for management using applicable programming languages and/or software products. Review system enhancements/upgrades to determine applicability of customer file modification requirements. Facilitate timely and accurate updates to reference files based on customer requests.
- Coordinate testing and debugging of new or modified software. Create test matrices and supporting documentation. Develop and execute formal test plans to ensure delivery of quality software applications. Monitor software implementations for exceptions and to verify that changes to the systems' operational process had the desired effect. Identify and document systems problems and assist in their resolution.
- Research system problems and identify potential solutions. Investigate and diagnose system problems, formulate solutions, initiate change sheets, define business requirements, and test corrections. Research any questionable standard system or local component problematic situations to assure compliance and accuracy.
- Under general direction, define business requirements, tests, and lead small to moderate projects. Assist management in performing business reviews by analyzing internal/external projects and changes. Ensure changes do not have a negative impact on productivity and procedures. Make recommendations to improve productivity, cost effectiveness and timeliness.
- Communicate with management and departmental personnel to document workflow procedures. Assist in preparing verbal and written communication about business changes with management or other staff members.
- Prepare written reports and analyses pertaining to testing results and related data, including recommendations for customers on improving operational workflows.
To Qualify for This Position, You’ll Need:
Required Education:
Required Work Experience:
- Two years of job-related business systems analysis, research and/or customer support experience.
Degree Equivalency:
- Associate's degree plus two years of job-related work experience for a total of four years required experience.
- Six years of job-related work experience.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of business support and systems concepts.
- Able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, including the ability to express basic technical and business concepts to management, peers, and the business units.
- Good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Good analytical and conceptual skills.
- Fundamental understanding of user acceptance test plans and test matrices, project plans, and scope and design documents.
- Working knowledge and understanding of how projects and implementations affect an organization and can effectively link it to business processes.
- Working knowledge of mainframe electronic data processing system change methodology.
Required Software and Tools:
What we Prefer you to have:
- Experience with technical writing, developing business plans, and SWOT Analysis.
- Reporting experience.
- Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Business Administration, or another job-related field.
- Three years of job-related business systems analysis, research and/or customer support experience.
- Proficiency with BCBSSC/subsidiary systems. Knowledge of programming languages and/or concepts, DB2, or related.
- In-depth knowledge of procedures for the supported business unit. Computer programming skills.
