Summary:
As Controller you will work closely with both the President and Director of Finance to assist with day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting/Finance Department and provide financial analysis and other support for Operations. This position will mentor under the current CFO until this candidate is ready to take on the responsibilities and role of the CFO.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Supervise Accounting Manager and oversee Finance Department
● Assist with banking relationship and acquisition analysis
● Ensure the accuracy of month end closes and financial reporting
● Preparation of monthly financial reports (internal and external)
● Preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecasts
● Perform key account reconciliations
● Lead cost reduction initiatives
● Customer contract review
● Prepare monthly financial analysis
● Prepare quarterly cash flow statement
● Oversee captive insurance company (e.g. claims, claim reserves, compliance, etc.)
Competencies:
● Strong GAAP knowledge
● Must have the ability and desire to assume the role CFO within 1-2 years.
● Construction Industry knowledge and business practices
● General federal and state tax knowledge
● Strong analytical skills
● Good business acumen
● Attention to detail
● Strong LMA
Required Qualifications:
● Bachelors or Masters Degree in Accounting
● Existing or Prior CPA or CMA, preferred
● 7+ years experience as a Controller, manufacturing or construction experience required
