Accounts Receivable/ Payable Clerk
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
Location: Cuba, MO 65453
Contract role
Accounts Receivable Job Duties:
- Prepares work by gathering and sorting documents and related information.
- Obtains revenue by:
- Verifying transaction information
- Computing charges and refunds
- Preparing and mailing invoices
- Identifying delinquent accounts and insufficient payments.
- Collects revenue by:
- Reminding delinquent accounts
- Notifying customers of insufficient payments.
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Maintains accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.
- Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
- Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation, payments, or adjustments.
- Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Accounts Payable Duties:
- Manages accounts payable using accounting software and other programs.
- Analyzes workflow processes.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with new and existing vendors.
- Ensures bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
- Processes due invoices for payments.
- Compares purchase orders, prices, terms of payment, and other charges.
- Pays invoices by:
- Verifying transaction information
- Scheduling and preparing disbursements
- Obtaining authorization of payment.
- Processes transactions and performs accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries, and reconciling books of accounts.
