About the Role:
The Lead Financial Analyst Role will be part of the Motive Card finance team with responsibilities across deal pricing, financial analysis, planning, forecasting, and management reporting while working with multiple business leaders across the Cards team. You will be the key point of contact for many Cards initiatives and play a big role in decision making for a quickly growing business line within Motive.
You will also help make data-driven decisions by providing financial and operational analytics, insights, and recommendations. We’re looking for an independent thinker, someone meticulous about drilling down and understanding data, a self-starter, and someone who enjoys collaborating and business partnering with diverse and talented people.
What You'll Do:
- Custom Deal Pricing: Support the sales team through the custom deal pricing process including deal analysis, pricing recommendation, negotiation, and approval. Update and maintain the Cards pricing model with the latest assumptions and portfolio metrics. Create a combined deal margin view for Fleet+Cards opportunities for largest new logo opportunities.
- Financial Planning & Forecasting: Maintain and enhance the Cards financial model and sync with Motive Card functional leaders on updated assumptions and forecast changes. Update financial model with actuals on a monthly basis and own the quarterly re-planning process with an emphasis on forecast accuracy for both spend and revenue.
- Data Analytics and Ad Hoc Projects: Independently and in partnership with the analytics team help identify opportunities and risks in the existing portfolio leveraging the Snowflake data warehouse, deal pricing database, and financial forecast model.
- Month End Close: Partner with accounting and FP&A on monthly close requirements, BvA reconciliation, and management commentary.
- Management Reporting: Support weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews and provide input for the quarterly board presentations.
- Budgeting & Planning: Manage the headcount planning process, expense reporting, and variance to plan analysis.
- Enablement & Onboarding: Partner with various Motive Card teams to drive implementation of new spend and increased participation within our partnership network.
What We're Looking For:
- Degree in Finance/Business or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience in finance role ideally at a card issuing, FinTech, or financial services company
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, statistical, and analytical skills including expertise in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel
- Power user of SQL (Snowflake/Redash), Tableau for visualization, and Salesforce reporting
- Experience in a fast-paced, startup environment with B2B pricing experience a big plus
- Exceptional communication (both verbally and written) skills – presentation and interpersonal
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Understanding of accounting principles, terms and month-end closing and reconciliation processes required
- Must reside in the Continental US (this is a remote role but you must already live in the US)

Your compensation may be based on several factors, including education, work experience, and certifications. For certain roles, total compensation may include restricted stock units. The compensation range for this position will depend on where you reside. Motive uses three geographic zones to determine pay range. For this role, the compensation ranges are:
San Francisco, California: $106,000—$146,000 USD
U.S. metropolitan areas: Los Angeles, San Diego, New York City Area, Seattle, Washington D.C.: $102,000—$141,000 USD
Other locations in the United States: $82,000—$128,000 USD
