SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The Project Cost Analyst will be reporting to the Director of Preconstruction and Estimating on the Project Delivery team. This role will interact with various departments including Development, Resource, Investment & Portfolio Management, Origination, Procurement, and Construction. The Project Cost Analyst will be a key member enabling NG Renewables to create accurate BOP estimates and guide stakeholders with informed decisions on future projects in respect to cost, technology, and overall CapEx. This position will require the individual to be a go-getter, a team player, and have superb technical knowledge. The Project Cost Analyst will ensure that all Preconstruction project initiatives and processes are in conformity with the National Grid Renewables’ established policies and objectives while ensuring projects meet technical and regulatory requirements.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Oversee internal construction estimating for solar, wind, and energy storage projects.
- Build out and maintain a cost database for documentation and future estimating purposes.
- Present to upper management on project cost estimates and alternative scenarios.
- Communicate regularly with all personnel to ensure satisfaction of internal/external customer requirements.
- Prioritize, multitask, and follow through on assigned tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
- Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THIS ROLE
- Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience in estimating utility scale projects including solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems. Cost analysis experience a plus.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand technical documentation related to renewable energy projects such as interconnection agreements, facilities studies, permitting documents, local codes and regulations, civil and electrical construction specifications.
- Proficiency with construction estimating software, advanced level Microsoft Excel user, and Power BI proficiency a plus.
- Professional certifications such as CPE or PMP are a bonus.
