The Rocky Mountain Center of Occupational and Environmental Health (RMCOEH) became Utah’s first statutorily established multi-university program in 2021. The Center works especially closely with 10 transdisciplinary Center Program Directors who hold faculty appointments in 4 U of U departments and will work closely with faculty and staff at Weber State University to contribute to the success of this prominent legislative partnership.
Works independently and proactively in completing various pre-award and post-award administration of research grants &/or contracts. Assists leadership and faculty with special projects and new initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Proficient with all the duties and responsibilities of a GCO I.
- Independently completes basic proposals for a variety of sponsors. Completes basic award administration for activities including award set-up, modification, and maintenance for the department’s most common sponsors.
- With basic oversight from a supervisor, completes complex proposal preparation (e.g. multi-project proposals, institutional training grants, contract proposals) for a variety of sponsors. Completes complex award administration for activities including award set-up, modification, and maintenance.
- Award review/tracking. Completes project-related A/P and A/R activities for complex contracts. Reviews budget categories for reporting activities.
- Demonstrates familiarity and expanded knowledge of various sponsor policies required for proposal submission, appropriately utilizes University, department, and most common sponsor systems and processes for proposal preparation, submission, and tracking.
- Problems encountered are varied. Resolution may require some analysis and interpretation, requiring innovation and creativity.
- Has developed specialized skills or is multi-skilled through job-related training and on-the-job experience.
This position does not involve any grant writing.Familiarity with internal and external grant systems including eAward, eRA Commons, XTrain, and Cayuse preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or 8 years of relevant work experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
