Who We Are
Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.
Who You Are
You bring 3 to 5 years of experience in processing financial or business transactions. You may have some college-level coursework in accounting. You possess strong oral and written communication skills, are proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, and are adept at learning new software programs. Your ability to interact effectively with others is well-established.
This is a safety sensitive position. As the Accounting Technician you report to the Senior Accountant.
What You Do
- Receive vendor invoices, check for accuracy, obtain required approvals, and process payment.
- Match purchase orders to invoices and enter invoices into computer and process payment.
- Track and post credits owed to the company and ensure all credits are properly applied to vendor payments.
- Monitor all invoice payments for discounts that can be used to reduce invoice amounts.
- Work with vendors to resolve past due invoices.
- Reconcile Vendor accounts and PO Accruals (received not invoiced).
- Assist in the use of PO authorization for Service orders and Contractor work authorization.
- Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Backup the purchasing department as needed under the discretion of the accounting supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and hazard free working environment and consider safety a primary job duty.
- Other duties, as required.
What You Bring
- 3 to 5 years of experience in processing financial or business transactions.
- Some college level coursework in accounting is desired.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Comfortable learning new software programs.
- Ability to interact well with others.
- Driver’s license.
