Financial Services seeks a Business Analyst to evaluate business systems and user needs for the payroll accounting workstream of the Workday Human Capital Management implementation. They will assist in designing solutions and writing requirements specifications, developing and executing test plans, and working with technical staff to build and implement the new system.
The successful candidate, not presently employed within Financial Services, will be paid a signing bonus of $750 and a $1,250 bonus after completing six months of employment with the department.

Essential Duties:
The University is changing Human Resources systems from PeopleSoft to Workday HCM. Go live for the new HCM is slated for January 1, 2025. Hired staff will be joining the ASU Workday Implementation Team where they will work to help design and test the Workday functionality related to the payroll accounting and other payroll and benefit modules. Areas of focus will include:
- Labor costing and accounting setup
- Payroll journal entry posting
- Multistate employment and taxation
- Year end W2 reporting
- Payroll and benefit reporting and remittance
- Tuition Waiver Taxation
- Payroll overpayment collection and correction in the system
- Assisting other functional HCM areas as needed
The position is not temporary; employment will continue after the system goes live.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree AND two (2) years of experience in procedural, management or systems analysis work; OR, Six (6) years of experience in procedural, management, or systems analysis work; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Workday HCM and/or Workday Financial Management System
- Experience implementing a new HR or financial system
- Experience in and/or supporting payroll, payroll accounting, or payroll tax
Working Environment:
- Work in an office setting and use office equipment
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time, travel moderate distances to perform work
