Job Description
Responsible for information/validation, risk and performance analytics and recommending and presenting specific actions to senior management to optimize our underperforming treaties.
Responsibilities
- Support the management development of a team of actuaries
- Identify, recommend and support actions to be taken by SCOR to optimize its inforce block
- Review treaty language, pricing methods and assumptions, and valuation methods and assumptions
- Regularly review and as appropriate update models that support inforce and risk performance analytics
- Identify and report actuarial risks as required for the group and legal entity risk dashboards
- Recommend various courses of action on underperforming business that management needs to consider in selecting the optimal approach
- Present recommendations to senior management as part of governance process while ensuring the accuracy and validity of information that is presented
- Make suggestions on areas of improvement
- Work with team Head of Inforce Management to complete ad hoc requests
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with all constituents across the organization (both within the inforce team and with other functions such as actuarial, experience studies)
- Demonstrated leadership that delivers key initiatives (including management actions) from start to finish
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- 15+ years of actuarial experience
- 10+ years of demonstrated management/leadership experience
- Strong demonstrated communication and collaboration skills
- Pricing, Valuation and/or inforce experience preferred
- Strong understanding of industry experience including review and development of actuarial assumptions
- Experience working with senior level executives
- Solid analytical skills and financial acumen with strong problem solving ability
- Ability to understand broad picture with an ability to research and understand the details
- Highly motivated self-starter and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of pricing, valuation methods and financial results
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to understand complex models
- Ability to identify and implement departmental processes and controls and ensure appropriate documentation
