Sales Finance is accountable for strategic and operational financial leadership in partnership with the US Sales & Revenue Growth Management teams to drive profitable growth. This individual serves as the primary finance business partner driving profit-building business solutions, financial insights, while ensuring financial control and discipline within the Sales organization. This individual oversees Trade Accountability and Governance, Customer Profitability Mobilization, and Insights.
A Day in the Life...
Customer Profitability
- Own customer profitability system integrity, mobilization, adoption, and expansion.
- Conduct detailed profitability analysis to enhance sales contribution through optimized investment levels and improved product mix.
- Collaborate with Commercial team and Brand Finance for integrated customer and brand profitability forecasts.
- Lead reporting, key insights, recommendations for margin expansion across retail accounts including scorecards and KPIs.
Sales & Revenue Growth Management (RGM) Support
- Support investment decisions through evaluating new business opportunities, competitive risks, and initiatives aimed at customer growth and profitability enhancement.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize trade spend, promotional effectiveness, and pricing strategies.
- Prepare sales reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
- Provide financial guidance and support to the sales team, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Performance Management
- Assist in setting annual net sales/trade targets and performance tracking to ensure accountability across all products and channels.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely recording of sales-related transactions, including posting accruals, deferrals, and adjustments.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, including supporting the development and implementation of new financial tools and systems.
What We Are Looking For:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or related field.
- Consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry experience and strong understanding of business, brand, & customer strategy.
- Experience with sales/trade promotion data and analysis.
- Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving skills, strong business acumen and ability to influence business partners.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Team oriented with the ability to engage and influence cross functional teams.
- Must be results oriented with strong attention to detail and deadlines.
- Ability to independently and reliably execute deliverables on a periodic basis with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable presenting to groups and senior stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex financial terms to non-finance professionals.
- Excellent prioritization and multitasking abilities.
Preferred
- Systems application experience with SAP, o9, Trade Promotional Management tool and PowerBI is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor's or University Degree (Required)
