Interim Part Time Financial Controller - West Cornwall - £60,000 + Contract completion bonus
Trial Balance Consulting have been exclusively engaged by a long standing client, a highly successful multi-site retail services business, that have tasked us with sourcing an experienced interim Financial Controller. This will be a flexible part time opportunity working over a three day working week with two days based across two business sites in West Cornwall, and a further day to be operated remotely. The contract duration is likely to be between six and nine months.
Working as part of an experienced team and reporting to a group Finance Director, the successful candidate will play a lead role in managing the day-to-day financial operations of two interesting business sites. Key responsibilities include:
- Supervise and mentor a small but highly competent transactional accounting team operating over two sites
- Produce high quality management information for review at group level (for two business sites)
- Ensure that all statutory reporting deadlines are met
- Work closely with senior management teams across two sites in the production of high quality budgeting and forecasting packs with KPIs
- Act as a key point of contact to major suppliers, customers and a variety of internal/external stakeholders
- Monthly reviews of the P&L and Balance Sheet (adding journal entries where required)
- Identify and deliver ongoing department and process improvements where required
The Person: We’re looking for a dynamic, energetic, and down-to-earth Financial Controller with a demonstrable history of success. Probably, though not necessarily, a professionally qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), the successful candidate will be armed with exceptional commercial acumen and sound operational finance skills. This will be a diverse role that would be well suited to a forward thinker possessing the confidence to add significant value. The role would be well suited to both an experienced Financial Controller or an ambitious Finance Manager seeking a step up. You’ll need a solid background in supervising staff, preparation of financial and management reports, up to date knowledge of accounting standards and budgetary controls, excellent IT aptitude, and most certainly a natural leadership style.
