Job Description
This role will act as a liaison between the Business Unit Senior Leaders, Group Finance Officer team, front office personnel, and the Corporate Controllers Division.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to monitoring financial accounting procedures and ensuring they are in place and operating effectively. The Manager is responsible for SEC reporting, providing technical assistance on product development, reviewing SEC disclosure and regulatory reporting information, ensuring compliance with GAAP, monitoring the monthly close by analyzing the income statement, and provide management of the Corporate Controllers.
Qualifications
- Perform corporate level SEC and Regulatory reporting relevant to products within business lines inclusive of the FCM business, GFS business, ABF Trading, Credit Trading, Repo Trading, Sec Lending, and Rates portfolios.
- Obtain (if not already held) appropriate licensure for broker-dealer reporting.
- Management of other team members and responsible for the work product and efficiency of the team.
- 5+ years accounting experience and 3+ years management experience.
- Previous oversight of or audit of broker-dealer or banking financial statements.
- Ability to compile and review broker-dealer financial statements including regulatory reporting of monthly and annual reporting requirements.
- Strong technical accounting experience/understanding required in some or all of the following: Consolidation, Financial instrument transfers, Derivatives and hedging.
- Ability to research and document GAAP issues in clear and concise memorandums.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead, organize, and manage projects beginning to end that require coordinated efforts across multiple functions (e.g., legal, operations, front-office, finance, corporate, etc.).
- Product knowledge in some or all of the following areas (derivatives, repurchase agreements, securities lending, commodities, cash equities trading, credit trading, securities, etc.).
- General ledger experience to facilitate review.
- MBA/CPA or equivalent.
- SEC & Regulatory Reporting and Accounting Policy Experience.
- Broad Capital Markets product knowledge throughout the industry inclusive of investment banking, asset-backed financing, non-market equity investments, etc.
