Senior Cost Accountant
Location: Alpharetta (McFarland) – In-office with flexibility
Compensation: $92k (Sign-on bonus potential)
Position Overview:
The Senior Cost Accountant will play a critical role in managing inventory accounting and cost processes for Stryten Energy Component (SEC) plants. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOM), overseeing daily production reporting, supporting the month-end close process, and ensuring accurate inventory reconciliation. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with inventory management, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the Bill of Materials (BOM) in IQMS to ensure accurate inventory costing at SEC plants.
- Implement the annual cost roll and quarterly commercial costing updates.
- Prepare daily production reports for management and handle ad hoc analysis as needed.
- Accurately prepare journal entries for the month-end close process.
- Reconcile SEC General Ledger inventory accounts with the perpetual inventory records and other supporting documents monthly; investigate and explain variances.
- Monitor key General Ledger accounts daily for potential issues related to production, receiving, and shipping, and conduct monthly account analysis.
- Analyze and adjust the obsolescence reserve on a monthly basis.
- Manage accounting for customer toll accounts.
- Assist with the annual Physical Inventory as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience with Bill of Materials and inventory reconciliations.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
- Proficient in PC applications, particularly Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Experience with IQMS is a plus.
