The work may include the organization, analytics, and understanding of healthcare service areas, population demographics, service line demand, operational and financial models, regional service delivery, functional programming, and facility master planning. The most successful candidate will have and demonstrate diverse skills and experience with a blend of data science, medical economics, business case modeling, health care system understanding, capital planning, and storytelling.
The Innova Group is a Healthcare Planning Consultancy with offices and staff in Austin, Boston, Charleston, Charlotte, Chicago, Colorado Springs, Dallas, Minneapolis, Nashville, and Tucson. Since 1995, our multidisciplinary team has been developing innovative strategic capital investment solutions for healthcare systems, both nationally and overseas. Our work revolves around strategic capital investment planning for health care systems. These efforts ensure facility projects meet the strategic, financial, and operational goals of the organization—setting the table for architectural design, real estate acquisition, and leasing processes. The Innova Group provides these services to large private systems such as Kaiser Permanente and Providence, academic medical centers such as Yale New Haven Health, community hospitals, and public sector systems such as the Military Health Service, Indian Health Service, and Veterans Affairs.

Job Description
- Acquire, validate, and analyze data from multiple sources to be utilized in modeling healthcare delivery and developing operational alternatives for healthcare systems, hospitals, and ambulatory networks. Common sets of data include:
- Demographic data
- Patient-level financial data
- Financial statements
- Medical claims data
- Provider-level productivity and financial data
- Benchmarks (health care utilization rates, physician productivity, etc.)
- Forecast healthcare utilization through trend analysis and extrapolation
- Interpret and analyze financial statements
- Develop financial models to forecast the impact of strategic and service line planning projects
- Demonstrate expertise utilizing healthcare strategy, planning metrics, and emerging trends to define operational processes and resource requirements (capacity, providers, staff, and space)
- Develop presentations and other written materials to communicate analyses, key concepts, and recommendations to a diverse stakeholder group
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree required in Healthcare, Business, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or other similar data/analysis intensive major
- Graduate work in Healthcare Administration, Business, or Health Policy seen favorably
- 5 years of healthcare experience in related Innova core sectors (healthcare strategy, operations, financial planning)
- Knowledge of healthcare services, delivery models, data sets, HCPCS, DRG and ICD codes, and facility, finance and/or operation related planning metrics
- Team player
- Ability to create/communicate relevant solutions to complex problems
Technical Skills Desired
- MS Office: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (Pivot tables, complex formulas, conditional formatting)
- Business Intelligence Tools
- Tableau, Alteryx, Power Bi, SQL (preferred capability)
These positions are being offered nationwide with preferences for communities and states with an existing Innova presence. Depending on experience, positions may require in-office employment in Austin, Chicago, Dallas, or Tucson. Six to ten days’ travel per month may be required for this position.
