The Staff Accountant provides support to the accounting department and performs a variety of duties such as maintaining general ledger, preparing financial reports, assisting with audits, and reconciling accounts.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statement journal entries
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and bank reconciliations
- Research and provide explanations for variances in monthly results vs prior periods
- Continuously seek opportunities to maximize revenues by researching price discounting activities, pricing discrepancies, billing variances, etc.
- Perform various and frequent ad hoc analyses as requested by management team
- Perform month end close

- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles
- Must be highly proficient in Excel, experience working with big data in excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills, candidate will interact with all areas of the company, including the executive team, finance teams in the business units and sales leaders, among others
- Excellent communication skills verbal and written
- Demonstrated analytical experience in a financial services environment
Experience/Qualifications:
- Must have 4-year accounting, finance or related degree
- Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in accounting role
- Software industry experience is desired but not required
- NetSuite or large ERP experience preferred
