General Information:
Hitachi Energy is seeking an Indirect Tax Sr. Analyst for its Raleigh, NC location.
Mission Statement:
Partner with the Business and GBS to ensure accurate and efficient sales and use tax, property tax and business license filings on a timely basis. Actively participate in, manage and/or create value-add initiatives and trainings to automate and streamline indirect tax compliance and advice.
Your Responsibilities:
- Responsible for timely and efficient communications for areas of responsibility
- Review and support timely and accurate preparation of state and other jurisdictions’ indirect taxes including sales and use, personal property, business licenses, and annual reports filings
- Develop SOPs and new processes to align with management requirements, as needed
- Gather data and support various aspects of state sales tax filings as needed
- Initiate and prepare tax payment requests
- Initiate and submit tax related purchase orders and payment requests of consultant invoices
- Responsible for continuous improvement in the efficiency of data gathering
- Manage exemption certificate database to ensure current and accurate certificates
- Manage vendor and customer new set ups and related tax forms
- Prepare tax account reconciliations for approval
- Provide advice and training to the Business on indirect tax matters
- Automation of all indirect tax compliance
- Manage and/or support indirect tax audits
- Other tax related tasks as requested

Your Background:
- SAP knowledge a must
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Vertex knowledge a must
- Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree in tax/accounting/finance or related field
- Strong Microsoft Office products skills, with emphasis on Excel
- Ability to interface and communicate effectively with all types of people and disciplines, including colleagues internationally
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and remain responsive to internal/external inquiries
- Flexible working independently as well as in a team environment
- Analytical/accounting and reconciliation skills
- Federal, state, sales and/or property tax experience (5 years preferred)
