The Senior Disability Financial Underwriter computes rates for both renewing and prospective moderate to complex group accounts. The Senior Financial Underwriter work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
The Senior Disability Financial Underwriter works closely with sales negotiating and recommending competitively priced plans and options for various opportunities. Handles various administrative processes in offering and onboarding and renewing cases. Documents all case related decisions and underwriting rationale. Provides mentoring and coaching to help develop skills of junior underwriters and support the growth of the team. Participates in projects which align to continuous improvement of underwriting functions and efficiency. Work is performed with little direction, while exercising considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5 or more years of underwriting or financial analysis/risk analysis experience
- Comprehensive understanding of risk pool management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Experience underwriting rates for complex accounts
- Experience analyzing a wide variety of health or claims related data

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $76,800 - $105,800 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
