What you'll need to have
• US GAAP knowledge and experience.
• Experienced in creating and implementing accounting governance and compliance strategy.
• Proven track record of sound decision making, taking ownership, setting up & identifying new business opportunities, enabling change and delivering results, in a fast paced, growth environment.
• Leadership, communication, negotiation and accounting skills.
• Process improvement and technology skills.
• Demonstrated understanding of internal control and process improvement.
• Proven capacity to work with executive leadership on corporate-wide issues.
What you'll be doing day to day
• Manages IKEA’s US Accounting and Reporting Operations and the financial close process to ensure relevant, complete, accurate and timely Financial and Management reporting.
• Executes the preparation and analysis of the consolidated and separate company financial statements on a monthly basis.
• Manages highly specialized accounting procedures, while supporting with subject matter expertise and policy support regarding the adoption and implementation of all applicable internal and external accounting pronouncements and requirements.
• Supports with financial guidance to management and operations, while identifying changes to create efficient and value-added processes.
• Manages the annual audit of IKEA’s financial statements, including review and follow-up on audit findings and recommendations.
• Reviews and evaluates external reporting required for governmental agencies on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Supports the global accounting function in the creation, adaptation and review of proposed global common accounting rules and recommendations.
• Organizes the implementation, monitoring and maintenance of the internal control processes across all the diverse areas of the accounting and reporting functions.
• Develops effective working relationships with finance, tax, and legal and interacts effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrates a consistent commitment to the operational units by responding quickly, minimizing tasks, and proactively seeking ways to help operational co-workers focus on the customer.
• Provides a consistent level of support across all business channels.
• Experience with SAP S4 Hana.
• Experience with Transformation with Finance Systems.
