Responsibilities
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Portfolio Manager serves as the accountable leader for a portfolio of business systems technology projects, site activation/acquisition projects, supervising staff and resources to ensure efficient and effective operations. Provides oversight for multiple, simultaneous projects and programs to achieve business goals, interfacing between teams and governance groups to communicate executive-level program and project information for planning, budgeting, metrics, and process improvement. Directs team on the application of appropriate project methodologies to different project scenarios based on objectives, delivery timeframes, and project team composition. Coaches, mentors, and manages a team on methodologies and techniques used in project management. Tracks, reports, recommends, and implements recommendations needed to improve upon project metrics.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains project portfolio summary for team and acts as liaison to Project Portfolio Office and portfolio service line leadership for project management activities. Fosters alignment of portfolio components (projects, programs, operations) with the strategic objectives and priorities of the organization. Facilitates IT governance processes to support effective decision making. Serves as initial escalation point for project managers and stakeholders. Coaches and mentors team members on appropriate use of various project management methodologies. Performs continuous analysis and monitoring of portfolio components to identify issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provides senior level project management skills, as needed, for select projects to supplement project management team capacity. Facilitates project and team meetings using effective meeting techniques for objectives, agendas, participants, and meeting minutes. Manages all phases of assigned tasks/projects, meets established deadlines, and maintains flexibility and professionalism while managing multiple priorities.
- Manages a team of project managers in support of execution of technology projects within assigned portfolio. Manages and maintains team operational resource calendars in support of capacity and resource management activities. Champions for continuous improvement. Participates in recruiting new staff and provides input into hiring decisions, trains and coaches new team members, provides ongoing daily supervision, manages employee relations such as disciplinary action and performance management discussions, and conducts performance reviews.
- Creates, consolidates, and maintains project methodology tools and templates for the project management team. Adds content specific as needed to assist in scope, risk, and issue management. Mentors junior project managers with project tools and templates. Conducts regular training and knowledge-sharing sessions with project managers and other team members related to project work.
- Keeps abreast of industry standards, practices and new technologies to enhance key stakeholder satisfaction with Information Technology Services.
- Serves as an active member of the Management team. Serves on committees and attends meetings as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline such as Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Science or Engineering required
- Masters degree preferred
- 10 years of related experience required
- or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 7 years of experience in IT project management, including 3 years of project or program management preferred
- 2 years in a supervisory capacity preferred
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- ServiceNow, Jira, Smartsheet, Clarity PPM, or Project Portfolio Management (PPM) software experience preferred
- Highly organized with proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workload, and manage resources and time effectively required
- Extensive computer literacy, including expertise in Microsoft Project, Teams and PowerPoint required
- Excellent leadership, communication (written and verbal), presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) may be required within 12 months of hire required
- Agile certification (ACP, DA, or CSM) preferred

Pay Range
Pay Range: $96,860 - $145,290 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
