JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in month-end close process, consolidation, budgeting, and financial reporting and analysis. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting strategic financial planning. This is a “roll up your sleeves” Controller role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial Reporting & Consolidation: Oversee the consolidation of financial statements for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Month-End Close: Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to support business decisions, including profitability analysis, cost control, and performance metrics.
- Manufacturing Accounting: Oversee accounting for manufacturing operations, including inventory management, cost accounting, and production variances.
- Internal Controls: Ensure robust internal controls are in place and adhered to, mitigating financial risks, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and supply chain, to support business objectives and financial goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS/BBA in Accounting, CPA (active or inactive) or CMA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in financial consolidation.
- Foreign currency translation a plus.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Experience managing an accounting department, providing leadership and mentorship, and identifying opportunities for professional development.
- Experience working in a multinational, fast-changing pace environment.
- Spanish (Read and Write) a plus.
SKILLS
Must be able to operate a computer and have basic knowledge of MS Office applications, Internet, E-mail.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fields; with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
LANGUAGE ABILITY
Ability to speak Spanish preferred. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
