Finance Systems Reporting Analyst
Location: CT or TX; Remote
Responsibilities:
Dynata is currently in search of a Finance Systems Reporting Analyst to join our global corporate FP&A team. The role will report to the Sr. Manager, Finance. This role will be responsible for ensuring all the systems that the finance and accounting teams use for reporting and analysis are accurate and provide useful information. The role will be the ‘go-to’ person for troubleshooting and report building and will support the global organization, including areas in the United States, Australia, and the UK.
Position Description:
This role has two main functions: The first is to maintain the current IBM Planning Analytics environment. This requires a deep understanding of IBM hierarchies, processes, reporting, and troubleshooting. The second main function is to maintain the Power BI data model. This will require working knowledge of SQL, data manipulation (ETL) in Power BI “M”, data model structure/relationships between tables, DAX measures, and report building. This role will be responsible for troubleshooting connection issues and reporting anomalies in both IBM and Power BI. This position will work closely with finance and accounting stakeholders to deliver reporting needs based on complex requirements. Being able to listen, understand, synthesize, and act based on stakeholder requests is a core competency of this role. Experience working in multiple budgeting tools (Hyperion, IBM, etc.) and experience working on a team to migrate tools is highly desired.
Major Activities / Key Challenges:
- Maintain IBM hierarchies and data connections.
- Build purposeful, relevant, and easy-to-use reports with the end-user in mind.
- Enhance the finance data model in Power BI to incorporate IBM forecast data, historical data from prior accounting systems, and cleansed vendor/customer names based on an existing offline model.
- Identify opportunities for new Power BI data models to solve business problems.
- Offer efficiency and data governance improvements based on understanding of the data in Power BI, both from a process perspective and an efficient coding perspective.
- Conduct Level 2 support for financial reporting and business intelligence applications, including maintaining and troubleshooting gateway connections, and solving refresh issues and failures.
- Conduct tips and training sessions for internal business users, including sharing of best practices.
- Monitor financial reporting controls and data governance across the company.
- Work with internal team to review and revise financial reporting strategy to align to business needs.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business/Finance/Economics.
- Experience in IBM Planning Analytics administration or other similar financial planning software including:
- Planning Analytics Turbo Integrator processing tool
- Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW) for dashboarding, reporting, and ad-hoc analysis
- Planning Analytics for Excel (PAfE)
- Ability to read and understand Planning Analytics cube rules and feeders’ functionalities
- Experience in Power BI development administration or other similar business intelligence software including:
- SQL and data modeling
- Proficient in writing complex measures (DAX) in Power BI
- Working experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) in Power BI
- Experience using Excel cube formulas (Cubevalue, Cubeset, Cubemember)

The salary range for this position is $70K - 100K/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A discretionary incentive program may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and other benefits, dependent on full-time employment status.
