The Risk Control Consultant will apply risk control and risk management techniques in the management and retention of clients on the CIA Waste and Recycling Team. The Risk Control Consultant will focus on evaluating client exposures and controls and developing service plans to improve client performance and maintain client retention. The Risk Control Consultant will participate in a team environment while carrying out individual service management responsibilities. A greater portion of the Risk Control Consultant's role will include more complex and multi-location clients. The Risk Control Consultant will effectively and consistently manage and deliver risk control services for large clients through consulting strategies and is comfortable designing and managing the delivery of Risk Control services following a defined service plan. The Risk Control Consultant integrates multiple services into planning and can be assigned regional and corporate projects at the direction of the internal team, including supporting marketing efforts.
Responsibilities include:
- Evaluate existing and prospective clients through the risk management assessment for all business segments and lines of insurance coverage that may include workers compensation, commercial auto, general liability, and property.
- Plan, coordinate and deliver consultative services based on client’s actual and potential loss exposures.
- Work closely with the internal team to service accounts and actively participate in the Account Management Process.
- Use analytics to support plans and recommendations, and to help show correlation of the service strategy to client improvement through the process.
- Deliver effective presentations to all levels of an organization on an individual basis or as part of a team.
- Manage a workload weighted towards large and multi-location insured clients, captive, and some larger accounts.
- Develop customized service plans and manage service delivery including preparing large account service instructions.
- Communicate progress to the team through verbal and written methods.
- Create value-added service through training, benchmarking, and delivering safety and health consultation for clients.
Requirements:- Five years of risk control, risk management, or safety experience.
- Private industry experience preferred with proven ability to reduce cost of risk.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation preferred.
- Experience working within Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) a plus.
- Ability to understand how an organization operates through research, observation, and talking with client contacts.
