Job Summary
The Senior Account Clerk is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services to the department. This includes opening department mail, data entry, triaging invoices for processing, manning the accounts payable mailbox by printing invoices and responding to inquiries of payment status to ensure timely feedback to vendors, employees, and stakeholders.
What you will do
- Open department mail and distribute daily.
- Sort, date stamp, and distribute invoices for the accounts payable workflow process.
- Handle the accounts payable electronic mail box which has a huge influx of activities.
- Respond to accounts payable inquiries via email and phone calls.
- Perform data entry into Microsoft Access Database.
- Manage short vendor forms for approval.
- Procure department orders and cover department phones as needed.
- Perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Education Qualifications
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and three years varied and increasingly responsible experience in keeping or reviewing financial records Preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial files; excellent interpersonal skills; team player; effective verbal and listening, communications skills; demonstrate sound work ethics; respectful, honest and trustworthy.
- Ability to perform office work with speed and accuracy, establish and maintain effective working relationships, great customer service, and knowledge of departmental accounting methods and procedures; practices and terminology used in fiscal record keeping work.
Equivalency
Starting At: $20.39
Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
