General Job Description:
The Controller position strategically leads and directs the company’s accounting functions. Establishes and maintains the company’s overall accounting systems, procedures, and policies. The controller is responsible for all analysis and reporting of financial information including budgets, planning, and required filings and reports. Will present findings and recommendations to management.

- Financial Planning & Analysis
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice to management.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Calculate and issue financial analysis of the financial statements.
- Financial Management
- Manage overall Accounting Department functions and team.
- Manage Cash flow.
- High level management of QuickBooks (Create/manage new items and their classes)
- Reconcile all commission statements.
- Benefits reconciliation
- Sales Tax
- Tracking of Fixed asset schedule, deferred rent or revenue and prepaids etc.
- Responsible for the monthly close
- Provide Management with monthly financial statements.
- Process Improvement/SOP Development
- Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
- Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, and maintain solutions to business and financial challenges.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent job-related experience.
- 5+ years Managing an Accounting team.
- High growth company experience preferred.
- CPA preferred.
- 2+ years QuickBooks experience.
- CRM experience (Salesforce preferred).
Supervisory Responsibility
The controller supervises all employees in the accounting department.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. Noise level is typically moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, copiers, scanners, and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. The schedule varies depending on department demands/deadlines, typically 40-50 hours a week Monday through Friday, but are subject to change at the company’s discretion.
Travel
Little to no travel is expected for this position.
