This Sr. Accountant Lead is an integral part to the development, communication and accuracy of financial and statistical information used in decision-making related to Marco’s Pizza Holdings, LLC, Subsidiaries and Affiliates (the Investor Group) by our executive team. The position oversees the accounting for the Investor Group (includes Marco’s Pizza Holdings (MPH), Marco’s Franchising (MFLLC), Marco’s Assurance (Assurance), MP Marks (Marks), Marco’s Technology Services (MTS), MP AR Resources (MPAR) and various other small entities) and is responsible for periodic financial statements produced in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This individual will have a critical role in leading the period-end closing, analysis and reporting processes, account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, store auditing and other accounting and financial analysis and duties as assigned. The position will manage and lead staff that work directly with the Investor Group, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and store auditing.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the financial period-end close process, including researching, preparing and posting standard, correcting and accrual entries.
- Prepare internal period/quarterly financial reports including balance sheets, income statements and General & Administrative expense reports.
- Research, support and provide feedback to the key executive team members on accounting issues, data in reports and internal financial statements issued.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of all account reconciliations.
- Understanding and proper accounting under ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers regarding recognition of income from franchise agreements.
- Assist in coordination and support various annual audits ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and play a role in the integration of new accounting systems/software.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Accomplish departments’ objectives by managing, mentoring and developing staff members.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role, with at least 5+ years of related experience required.
Preferred:
- CPA
- Ability to lead and manage a team.
- In depth knowledge of accounting principles under U.S. GAAP.
- Capable of completing tasks with little supervision.
- Detail oriented, efficient and ability to manage time effectively.
- Strong decision making and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident communicator who can interact with people at all levels of the company.
- Efficient in Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of accounting software(s), preferably Great Plains, Management Reporter and Oracle NetSuite.
