DescriptionWhat Success Looks LikeReporting to the Financial Controller, you are excited about helping with all things accounting-related including financial reporting, month-end closing, processes and controls improvement, and other special projects. Your experience will be shared with and contribute to the development of the finance team. Your regular processes and activities will include people development, payroll, and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for reviewing bank account reconciliations and other balance sheet account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process.
- Responsible for/Supports with the A/R, A/P, GL, inventory accounting, and cash management.
- Responsible for overseeing accounts receivable and Customer Deposit activity.
- Responsible for reviewing and approving payments, including but not limited to vendor payments and commissions.
- Responsible for preparing and analyzing reports for our internal and external customers.
- Responsible for the accurate entry and timely processing of employee payroll.
- Reconciles quarterly payroll reports to the General Ledger.
- Prepares routine journal entries, including but not limited to prepaid expenses, accruals, and depreciation.
- Reviews Journal Entries prepared by others and may approve for posting to the General Ledger.
- Approves returns and credits to support Customer Success and Sales business units.
- Reviews and ensures sales tax filing requirements are met.
- Review and respond to minor tax notices.
- Support financial activities including general ledger accounting, reporting, cost accounting, and analysis of monthly financial performance.
- Support with the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances to department leaders and ownership.
- Supports Financial Controller with ad hoc finance-related duties.
Skills, Knowledge And Expertise- 7-10 years of accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to work on multiple projects at the same time and meet deadlines.
- Manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Experience with ERP system, Netsuite preferred.
