Assistant Controller/Accounting Manager
Charlotte, NC (hybrid work schedule)
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our clients’ finance team. The Assistant Controller will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and supporting the Corporate Controller & CFO in overseeing the financial health of the organization. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable generating frequent financial reports for senior management. They should track financial information in a well-organized manner and assist the Controller in all aspects related to finance at the organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of the annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP including footnotes and supporting documentation.
- Manage journal entries and account reconciliations for monthly or annual closing.
- Perform reconciliations and analysis of bank and general ledger accounts.
- Compile and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and documenting business transactions
- Reviews weekly cash flow reports and analyzes as required.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Perform technical accounting research, including drafting of accounting policies and internal/external memorandum.
- Document and review processes and internal controls to comply with accounting standards and best practices.
- Monitors current department accounting systems and procedures and revise as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required
- 4+ years’ experience in accounting with leadership responsibilities
- Public Accounting experience a plus
- Experience working for a manufacturer
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Strong technical, analytical, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage a fast-paced accounting department
