Equitable is looking for a Lead Actuary of Pricing and Inforce, Group Retirement to join us! In this role, you will serve on the Actuarial team in the Group Retirement business, reporting directly to the Chief Actuary, responsible for executing on product pricing and inforce management strategy.
This role will proactively contribute to growing the Group Retirement by developing innovative strategies to optimize client outcomes and enhance profitability of the business.
Job Responsibilities
Key functions include but are not limited to:
- Partner closely with product team on development and implementation of new products and features
- Manage pricing models and documentation for Group Retirement product portfolio
- Ensure ongoing maintenance of documentation of our models and processes
- Oversee all analysis, review and offer generation for all pricing requests
- Manage all product Conversion Programs
- Collaborate with finance areas on model consistency, assumption development and approval process
- Conduct experience monitoring and produce associated reports
- Manage and produce all actuarial material for the filing of products and enhancements; and address all state department inquiries and objections
- Monitor legal and regulatory updates
- Assist in all new business projects, including development of exploratory pricing models
- Support cross functional initiatives by providing pricing subject matter expertise.
- Provide pricing subject matter expertise to team members and internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects.
The base salary range for this position is $105,000-$177,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on professional work experience as an Actuary in the financial/insurance industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of actuarial principles, profitability drivers and key financial metrics and suite of retirement products is required
- Understanding of Group Retirement business is preferred
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and frameworks
- Critical problem solver with ability to gather, analyze and synthesize a significant amount of information, and turn it into a compelling vision

Financial Risk Management: Knowledge of tools, techniques, and strategies applied in financial risk management; ability to quantify, qualify, and manage financial risk.
Insurance Products: Knowledge of insurance products, product groups and services; ability to apply the knowledge of products and services appropriately to diverse situations, including but not limited to marketing development and product consulting.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Programming: Knowledge of relevant programming languages and tools; ability to test, write, design, debug, troubleshoot and maintain source codes and computer programs.
Statistics and Actuarial Modeling: Knowledge of statistical and actuarial modeling tools and techniques; ability to apply modeling processes and techniques to facilitate risk management decisions.
