Job Summary:
The Portfolio Manager is to oversee and coordinate all operational and administrative aspects of the lending function. The Portfolio Manager will assist division lenders with the gathering of financial data, analyzing the data, preparing status reports, and servicing the division loan portfolio. The Portfolio Manager will also work with lenders and lending assistants to ensure that loans are closed as approved, with complete documentation, and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist lenders and division manager in meeting and directing customers to proper department or lender.
- Gather and analyze information necessary to administer large credit relationships.
- Assist in preparation of written correspondence in the form of memorandums, Problem Loan Status Reports, Loan Memorandums, Credit Relationship Reviews, Loan Approvals, or other materials necessary to document credit relationships.
- Review daily overdraft list and determine which division customers have available lines to clear overdrafts.
- Follow up on delinquent and deficient documentation for division loans.
- Participate in the bank's business development program. Cross-sell the bank's products and services.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor.
Education/Skills:
- Business related degree and two (2) years experience as a commercial lender, or in the alternative, a minimum of seven (7) years commercial loan training and demonstrated aptitude to analyze complex financial statements are preferred.
- Possess knowledge of bank lending policies and procedures.
- Have knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and to prioritize tasks.
- Proficient word processing and spreadsheet skills in order to complete forms, reports, and correspondence in final form in a reasonable amount of time.
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
- Personal computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage other people. Possess good leadership qualities.
- Interpersonal skills to positively represent the bank to customers and to the public.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and lift up to 10 pounds. Must have adequate verbal communication.
