General Summary:
This is a senior individual contributor position that supports the Health and Productivity (H&P) Directors and Client Reporting Analysts within the National Client Group. The incumbent in the role works with Unum’s largest, most complex group policyholders to help minimize absence and maximize productivity through the analysis of absence data and the implementation of applicable policies and programs. The position will support the H&P Directors with the presentation, design, implementation, and monitoring of these H&P solutions, as well as client-facing analytic dashboards.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gather information to define the impact of lost time and disability for National Client Group customers.
- Analyze comprehensive lost time data and corporate policies/practices concerning a company's disability and lost time management performance and results.
- Present and interpret claim and leave data to NCG clients, brokers, and partners via virtual presentations, demonstrating excellent negotiation, influencing, listening, and facilitation skills.
- Lead the effort to identify, research, and resolve client data analysis and reporting problems.
- Function as a member of the business team and provide input into the strategic approach to the development of lost time reporting packages for NCG clients.
- Assist H&P Directors in thought leadership/research projects.
- Provide a variety of reporting and analysis: ad hoc customer reporting, industry analysis, benchmark analysis, support for customers, etc.
- Participate in internal meetings as the absence data subject matter expert to explain/review the reporting package prior to presentation to customer.
- Represent Unum at selected large case prospect sales and renewal meetings.
- Contribute to the development of absence and disability management programs for the National Client Group customers.
- Prepare policies and practices to support the integration of the various lost time benefit programs.
- Describe and demonstrate to customers the value of an absence and disability management program and create methods by which they can adopt the recommendations and solutions we identify.
- Develop and implement recommended absence and disability management and prevention strategies.
- Analyze Health and Productivity program return on investment for participating policy holders.
- Interface with internal partners in the training and development strategies pertaining to national client group policyholder absence management solutions.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or relevant combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years’ professional work experience in one or more of the disciplines most related to absence and disability management interventions such as vocational rehabilitation, medical case management, occupational health, or safety and wellness.
- Advanced degree and professional certification such as CRC, CCM, RN, CDMS highly preferred.
- Ability to effectively participate in highly analytical and relatively ambiguous work situations and structures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly attentive to details.
- Independent worker and demonstrated ability to provide results in a timely manner.
- Understanding of the principles of absence & disability management and the specialty areas of integrated disability management, absence management, and assistive technology.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing, listening, and facilitation skills.
- Excellent public speaking, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- The ability to identify and interpret disability and lost time patterns and trends.
- Ability to create professional and credible reports and documents.
- Ability to work on multiple projects at a time.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of products and business intelligence tools.
- Minimal travel may be required.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location, and experience.
$75,500.00-$142,700.00
