Summary:
The Investment Consultant – Sustainable Strategies is responsible for operating within the Calamos Sales and Distribution Team to engage directly with financial advisors and institutional clients focused on sustainable investment strategies. This position promotes and wholesales Calamos products with the goal of acquiring and retaining assets.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Generate and retain assets within Calamos’ sustainable strategy product suite.
- Generate business opportunities globally through direct outreach to financial advisors and other potential clients.
- Manage and cultivate key relationships with wealth management clients, positioning Calamos’ sustainable strategy lineup through those contacts.
- Maintain knowledge of industry-related topics, proficiency in delivering value-added presentations to a broad array of audiences; and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, prospects, and industry experts.
- Serve as the main point of contact and client-facing strategist, addressing questions from the internal sales force, existing clients, and prospects regarding the Calamos Sustainable Equities product offerings.
- Manage the distribution and fundraising campaigns by developing roadmaps, leading sales pipeline discussions, and collaborating with internal teams to create thought leadership pieces.
- Collaborate with the Calamos Marketing, Product, and Data Science teams to qualify sales leads and promote idea generation.
- Update activity in the client management system and work with sales management on tactical initiatives and projects.
- Attend industry and other related events as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years financial services experience with direct sustainable strategy sales experience, including strong investment management knowledge and proven client-facing capabilities.
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam, FINRA series 7 and 63 licenses required.
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to effectively explain details about the Calamos sustainable strategies product suite.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with significant client-facing (investment consulting or sales) experience.
- High level of self-motivation, with strong integrity, ethics, collaboration skills, and ability to manage and grow talent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and sales database applications.
- Able and willing to travel (minimum 50%), and international travel may be required.
