UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual (UHC E&I) is seeking an Accounting Consultant to join the USHealth Group Finance team. The Accounting Consultant will be an integral part of the controller team and will engage directly with the finance team while supporting the financial close and internal reporting processes. Candidate must demonstrate solid communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while working collaboratively in partnership with other USHG departments and outside bank organizations. Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in the three-day month end accounting close and reporting process
- Preparing detailed reconciliations for cash and suspense related accounts
- Posting numerous higher profile journal entries
- Researching and resolving account and transaction issues / differences
- Fulfilling internal and external audit requests by providing workpapers and/or direct responses
- Develop and maintain internal control structure and procedures
- Completing other special projects as required

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access
- Demonstrate the technical and functional skills necessary to prepare and analyze account reconciliations
- Demonstrate solid analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate success with process improvement
- Demonstrate the ability to comprehend and apply generally accepted accounting principles, and research and analyze accounting related issues
- Demonstrate the ability to plan upcoming work while also prioritizing and organizing current workload to meet multiple hard deadlines
- Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain solid working relationships across the organization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cash and/or Suspense account reconciliation experience
- Experience with PeopleSoft and/or Blackline
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Local to Fort Worth area
