Model Risk Management (MRM), part of Firm Risk Management Division, is responsible for the Firm's model risk management framework and independently oversees model risk. MRM technology team, part of Risk Technology Group, develops and supports applications for MRM business unit to perform review, validation and risk assessment of models including review documentation and reporting. There is a need to build a new model review platform to support growing business requirements and functionality including integration with data science platform and building a data analytics and reporting solution.
The technology stack includes:
- ReactJS/Redux (GUI), JavaScript, HTML, Java, Spring Boot, DB2, MongoDB, Camunda/BPMN, and micro-services architecture, PowerBI and Snowflake.
Position Description: We are looking for an experienced hands-on Front-end / UI developer to build GUIs using ReactJS/Redux interfacing with micro-services and workflow engines built using Camunda/BPMN. The candidate will also have an opportunity to lead a team of GUI developers and work alongside business product owners and users in an Agile set-up. A successful candidate would be a team player, self-motivated, innovative, thinks outside the box and has good communication skills.
Skills Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
- 7+ years of experience in Front-end / Web UI development
- At least 5 years of experience in ReactJS/Redux
- Very strong knowledge of Web Development: ReactJS, JavaScript, HTML, HTML5, Authentication Mechanisms
- Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Programming, Design Patterns, Structures and Algorithms
- Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in performance tuning, code profiling, code review, hands on experience using Design Patterns and Practices
- Experience with unit testing frameworks
- Working knowledge of Unix / Linux
- Familiarity with version control - Git
Desired Skills:
- Working knowledge of Core Java
- Working knowledge of relational databases (preferably SQL or DB2), MongoDB
- Agile Development Methodologies

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $140,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
