Optum Health Risk and Growth is looking for a Financial Consultant to join our team to support the financial modeling and analysis of our risk membership. This role will report directly to the Director of Finance and be an integral part in supporting the growth and performance evaluation of Optum's risk membership.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with the regional finance teams to create and develop 5 year financial models to support the risk membership growth at Optum Health
- Engage with the regional finance teams to help analyze financial performance of the existing risk business to help guide product and geographic growth decisions
- Analyze the financial impact of annual Medicare benefit decisions on Optum Health
- Track risk membership growth to help inform Optum leaders of progress toward full year targets
- Assist in pulling together Quarterly Business Review materials with Optum and UHG leadership on topics relating to Optum Health risk membership
- Perform ad hoc financial analyses relating to risk membership including impacts from quality changes, incentive programs, operating costs, benefit structures and rate negotiations

Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of financial and/or accounting experience
- Experience driving business performance in a high growth environment
- Experience working in a matrix environment, building relationships, and partnering with business leaders
- Work experience anticipating accounting, financial reporting, forecasting and operational issues, assessing their implications and developing and implementing an appropriate action plan
- Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling (creating graphs, pivot tables, VLOOKUP and charts)
