This is an in-person position. The HR Business Partner works under the direction of the Director of Employee Engagement to embed corporate HR strategy and align business objectives with employees and management within designated business assignments. The HRBP is expected to:
- Serve as a consultant to support designated business groups (retail, warehouses, and cleaning services) by guiding on HR matters, including employee relations, internal investigations, training, reporting, and working with the business unit on staffing levels when needed
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management, which includes coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions
- Build strong relationships with business leaders to improve collaboration, build morale and increase retention
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
- Maintain high-level comprehension of designated business groups and be able to represent their people and culture-related interests to assist in identifying, creating, and executing HR programs
- Analyze trends and metrics to aid in strategic decision-making
- Attend key business meetings within your designated business groups as needed
- Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation as needed
- Maintain base-level knowledge of HR-related information (labor/employment law, recruiting, onboarding, retention practices, benefits regulations, and policies)
- Act as a facilitator for HR programs such as performance management, engagement survey, and compliance training
- Ability to apply sound judgment to sensitive and confidential information to ensure HR’s credibility and business reputation
- Identify areas of improvement and key themes in business groups that HR could proactively engage
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, HR Management or comparable experience
- 1+ years of experience in Human Resources
- Ability to travel across northern New England
- Valid driver’s license permitting operation of a vehicle with a safe driving record
- A criminal background check that meets Agency standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in Human Resources
- 1+ years of employee relations experience
- HR Certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR)
- Experience with HRIS systems, HR Reporting, and Investigative/Business writing
- Labor law knowledge
- Project and change management skills
- Strong business acumen and analytical problem-solving skills
