Crop Business Practices & Project Consultant (I or II)
The Crop/RCIS team is looking to hire a Crop Business Practices & Project Consultant who will lead projects that support global and/or regional strategic and operational priorities. As a Crop Business Practices & Project Consultant, you will be contributing to the application, strategic direction, and improvement of Crop business applications by managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive direction, innovation, and services.
RCIS provides insurance and superior services through leading agents to protect America’s farmers and ranchers. It’s been an innovator in crop insurance since the crop insurance business was privatized by the federal government in 1980. Today it’s one of the nation’s largest crop insurance providers, offering risk management protection in all 50 states through a national network of about 4,000 professionally trained and licensed agents.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading multiple projects of moderate to large size and complexity; coordinating with Crop Business Units, Information Technology and other consultants participating in assigned projects.
- Supporting the business partner in building the software enhancement request which includes Business Case – Problem statement, benefit analysis, risk assessment, project scope, and return on investment.
- Taking a proactive and holistic approach to business practices and processes, including identifying opportunities for improvement, developing solutions, managing initiatives, and aligning appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SME) and resources needed from across the business to execute change.
- Planning, managing, tracking, and executing projects that deliver high quality and timely results to the business.
- Partnering across the business to identify, develop, and implement change management strategies; acts as a change agent in the implementation of initiatives that support strategic and operational priorities.
- Working with Information Technology to perform impact analysis of application changes across various components, holding an end-to-end view of the system.
This position would be preferred to be based out of our Anoka, MN office but can be located virtually anywhere in the United States.
This role will be filled at either the Crop Business Practices & Project Consultant I or Crop Business Practices & Project Consultant II. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.
Required Qualifications:
Crop Business Practices & Project Consultant I:
- Bachelor’s degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Project Management – Consultant area
- OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Project Management – Consultant area
AND
- Knowledge in organizational design and development
- Experience leading organizational change
OR
Crop Business Practices & Project Consultant II:
- Bachelors Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Change Management or Insurance or Operations or Training area
- OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Change Management or Insurance or Operations or Training area
Preferred Qualifications:
- Crop Insurance Industry experience
- Relevant insurance industry designations and certifications
- Lean, Agile, Six Sigma Methodology knowledge and experience
- MBA
- Knowledge of existing and emerging technologies and how those technologies can be used to improve insurance business processes and transaction processing
- Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute
- In-depth knowledge of the tools, concepts, methodologies, and techniques of business process reengineering, change management, performance metrics and measures, customer assessment, cost/benefit analysis, benchmarking, process mapping/simulation, data collection, problem identification and interpretation
- Broad-based knowledge of insurance industry including knowledge of insurance business processes and processing
- Advance Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships
- Strong Analysis and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Direct experience leading and transforming end-to-end process improvement; designing processes and defining metrics
- Experience working within and deploying continuous improvement management system
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Design Thinking, or Agile-Scrum Methodology training
- Experience in training employees on business process standardization practices
Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. The combined salary range for this position is $83,700.00 - $157,700.00. The starting salary range for the Crop Business Practices & Project Consultant I is $83,700.00 - $137,100.00 and for the Crop Business Practices & Project Consultant II is $96,300.00 - $157,700.00.
