Job Overview:
A law firm in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Digital Risk Advisory And Cyber-Security Associate Attorney with over 7 years of experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both proactive and reactive privacy and data protection compliance matters, including advising on data security incidents, related regulatory investigations, and contractual and legal obligations related to security. This role requires a candidate with substantial experience in privacy and cybersecurity breach response or litigation, exceptional project management skills, and a keen understanding of data privacy and security laws.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on privacy and security obligations.
- Advise on state, federal, and international data security incident notification requirements.
- Defend clients in regulatory investigations related to privacy and security matters.
- Manage and lead privacy and cybersecurity breach response efforts, including coordinating with technical experts and managing legal strategy.
- Assist clients in navigating compliance with contractual and legal obligations related to data security.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on evolving data privacy and security laws and regulations.
- Draft and review legal documents, including compliance policies, incident reports, and regulatory filings.
- Develop and deliver training programs on data privacy and security best practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop effective risk management strategies.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in data privacy and cybersecurity.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 7+ years of experience in privacy and data protection compliance, cybersecurity, or related fields.
- Proven experience advising on privacy and security obligations and defending regulatory investigations.
- Demonstrated experience with privacy and cybersecurity breach response in a law firm or in-house role.
- Exceptional project management skills and the ability to manage a fast-paced, complex workload.
- Strong awareness of data privacy and security laws and regulations.
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Motivation to learn and understand technology and forensic investigations.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Education and Certifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Bar in Ohio or eligibility for admission.
