Steelcase is hiring a Human Resources Business Partnerto support the Steelcase Sales groups. In this role you will work closely with employees and leaders to identify and develop key partnerships on talent and culture to drive business results.
What You Will Be Doing:
- You’ll work in collaboration as well as owning individual responsibilities across HR and the business. Our goal is for you to learn, so you’ll receive some mentorship and coaching along the way, and we also want you to wrestle with ambiguous and challenging projects.
- We cultivate an environment that values tough questions, reassures new ideas and seeks valuable information that leads to innovation. We desire for you to gain professional experience rooted in HR and provide key insights across a variety of business functions.
- As an HRBP you will apply Human Resources practices, theories and principles towards daily and complex human capital issues. It’s really about supporting all employees in our organization in an inclusive way.
- This role is actively involved in daily operations and collaborates with various teams to accomplish objectives. We believe in a team approach that makes us all better.
- You will also be responsible for the development of programs and processes in collaboration with Centers of Expertise (COE’s) such as L&D, Compensation, Benefits, and/or individually while ensuring consistent application and implementation.
- Develop talent management initiatives to accelerate business goals and strategies, as well as adapting global HR initiatives to the functional business. Collaborate with local and regional leaders and employees to optimize organizational and individual performance.
- You will provide direction on culture-related situations as well as promoting our Employee Value Proposition (EVP).
- The coordination of resources to ensure cross functional alignment within the business is something you'll do every single day.
- Coaching leaders and employees on various topics to maximize talent and achieve business goals.
- Establish relationships across the organization and act as a trusted partner to resolve issues and initiatives.

- Ability to lead through influence and counsel leaders and employees on organizational and individual performance needs and interventions
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills; these capabilities are coupled with the ability to build and maintain interpersonal relationships and build trust
- Data driven and have an aptitude to present and build a business case by analyzing situations, make sound decisions and anticipate obstacles and develop alternative courses of action
- Ability to evaluate solution effectiveness and ensure continuous improvement
- Excellent verbal and written Communication Skills

Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of prior experience in a client facing HR role
- Prior experience with a company that is distributed across multiple states/countries
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, or related field
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Comprehensive understanding of employment and social laws as well as market trends and practices at the local and country level
