General Description:
Create and implement effective wellness and population health management (PHM) strategies. This role includes reducing costs, improving member health status, and attracting and retaining talent. Assist with new business sales and retain existing clients with 100+ employees by providing clients with tools, resources, and assistance.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in briefings and sales presentations for potential clients with 100+ employees. Act as an expert in data management tools. Review USI concepts, practices, and service expectations.
- Develop and deliver strategic solutions specific to client needs. Participate in strategic planning sessions and PHM-specific meetings.
- Analyze and recommend vendor/carrier-based services, products, and pricing. Work with clients and vendors to establish baseline metrics and monitoring methodology.
- Serve as a liaison between USI, the insurer, and outside vendors.
- Partner with internal teams to create customized wellness strategy options for clients, focusing on metrics, outcomes, education, programs, and policy/environment.
- Create PHM program implementation communication materials, including e-mails, flyers, and brochures. Consult with the client’s communication team and outside vendors on materials.
- Review client utilization and cost data to identify PHM opportunities and recommend strategies. Meet with assigned $100,000+ clients to review annual wellness statistics.
- Participate in national team meetings and monthly team calls. Develop and execute an internal training calendar for the region.
- Implement USI strategy with new clients and transition existing clients to the appropriate platform.
- Maintain data tracking tools for corporate reporting.
- Collaborate with the team to enhance client communication materials, including a national newsletter.
- Develop and deliver PHM training to internal and external audiences in line with national strategies and initiatives, including wellness seminar content for prospects and clients.
- Work with internal partners and carriers to ensure accurate and timely responses to issues.
- Keep current with medical carrier and vendor wellness offerings, resources, and industry trends. Educate benefits consultants and account executives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 2-3 years of experience working directly with wellness/health promotion programs.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred. Concentration in health sciences field, such as nutrition, sports/fitness, or nursing preferred.
- Must hold or be willing to obtain a state Life, Accident, and Health insurance license.
- Travel up to 50% of the time.
- Basic knowledge of medical terms, including chronic conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes.
- Experience with strategy development, health-related policy, and environmental interventions. Some industry (carrier/broker/vendor) exposure preferred.
- Experience preparing and delivering presentations and facilitating decision-making.
- Ability to convey complex information to a wide variety of audiences, including small and large group settings with employees, mid-level managers, and senior leaders.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
