Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the HRBP will support the execution of human resource plans and objectives for the site location, selected corporate business areas, and in addition - one or two US production locations. You will work closely with the management team of your assigned areas.
Duties & Accountabilities
- Providing quality advice and interpretation to front-line managers related to state employment legislation and Human Resources policies.
- Providing quality support for a new start-up facility.
- Advising, consulting, and/or coaching in employee relations matters including performance management, workplace investigations, or disciplinary actions. Facilitating the resolution of complex workplace disputes.
- Facilitating resolution of employee behavioral concerns such as progressive discipline/corrective action, conflict resolution, and policy violations by working with managers and employees.
- Providing coaching and support to management with regard to recruitment and selection for both hourly and salaried staff.
- Accountable for Company-wide salaried recruitment, as well as oversight of hourly recruitment for assigned client groups.
- Providing guidance and support with regard to compensation decisions in alignment with company guidelines.
- Implementation and administration of employee programs to ensure program effectiveness and overall accountability from all stakeholders (e.g. onboarding, talent development).
- Providing consultative advice and guidance to business units in the following areas: Workforce planning, succession planning, identifying high potential employees, and developing suitable career paths and employee development plans and conducting exit interviews and providing appropriate feedback to clients.
- Developing tactics and strategies to address specific Human Resources issues within client business units (e.g.: recruitment, retention, labor trends, etc.).
- Providing advice and assistance in the planning and implementation of business unit/client area change.
- Providing coaching, skill development, and training to business unit management staff.
- Monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting business unit Human Resources metrics.
- Leading and/or assisting with special projects and initiatives as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or other related fields.
- Minimum 4 years experience in an HR generalist profile with exposure to hourly and salaried recruiting.
- Previous experience working in a union/ manufacturing/operations environment is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of the US Fair Labor Standards Act South Carolina, as well as Maryland and Iowa, employment-related legislation.
- Familiarity with Human Resources Management System (preferably UltiPro) and well-versed with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and develop positive working relationships with customers and coworkers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel within North America up to 10% of the time.
- The following are considered assets for this position: Experience working in a large multi-site location, SHRM, or progression towards SHRM designation. Bilingual Fluency (English/Spanish)
