A Few Essential Job Functions
- If you love data, this position may be for you, as you’ll research, analytics, and the details to provide solid recommendations related to innovation, rating, pricing, marketing, sales, features, service, underwriting, risks, and a lot more. Assists in the development and implementation of compelling business cases to accomplish business objectives.
- You’ll participate in business process analysis/design/needs assessments and cost-benefit analysis to align solutions with corporate strategic directives.
- Collaborating across multiple departments and with external vendors to reach desired profitability and growth targets will be key.
- Developing, managing, and leading initiatives and effectively communicating project updates and requested information to leadership.
- You’ll identify critical requirements of a business process and key objectives of product performance to be monitored.
- Using competitive analysis to achieve profitability and growth objectives.
- Leading projects or initiatives that support underwriting goals, including impacts on underwriting policies, guidelines, systems, processes, or metrics is a priority.
- You’ll monitor the effectiveness of existing product(s) and look for opportunities to further refine, streamline, and make improvements.
- Analyzing reports and working with the actuarial team to implement appropriate changes in the pricing level and segmentation, underwriting standard, sales growth, and claims handling to achieve corporate goals.
- You’ll act as a liaison between internal teams, this can include Underwriting, Claims, Sales, Actuary, and other departments.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, or related field or equivalent experience
- Typically requires 3+ years of industry experience
Preferred
- Prior experience with pricing, product management, underwriting, and/or actuary
- MBA or Six Sigma Green Belt training
Certifications & Licenses
- Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation (preferred)
- Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation (preferred)
- Product Management Certification (PMC) (preferred)
