With the recent addition of video led ‘virtual’ consultations, we also enable patients who have some distance to travel to avoid the additional stress and worry of a long journey.
This post is for a substantive appointment as QVH Radiology Department seeks to expand its team of consultants. The post is for a consultant radiologist with a keen interest in Head & Neck and Dental imaging (including CBCT). There is an expectation to be able to report general radiology examinations including:
• CT
• MRI
• US (including FNA/Core biopsy)
• X-ray
There is an expectation to support registrars, CDC pathways and to work flexibly to cover colleagues.
Main duties of the job
This role is to cover core staging work for Head and Neck, CBCT reporting and general specialties as well as our imaging work performed on behalf of primary care and CDC.
Reporting to cover the following modalities:
• X-ray
• US, including carrying out US guided biopsies
• MRI
• CT and CBCT

• To support clinical reporting of work
• MDT participation/ reporting governance
• Training and supporting registrars/ reporting radiographers
• Support sonographers with report queries
• REALM/governance meetings
• Pathway development for CDC
• Participation with imaging network at T&F groups
Person specification
Experience and Qualifications
- Specialty experience in Head and Neck / General radiology
- Experience in reporting CBCT and dental imaging
- Experience in H&N ultrasound guided FNA/Core biopsy
- Governance experience and active participation (REALM / QIP/ Audit/ Other)
- FRCR or DDMFR
- Supervision experience of doctors in training/Teaching and Medical Education experience
- On specialist register via CCT or CESR by the time of appointment
- Evidence of participation in research
