Job Overview: As the Legal Advisor for our luxury fashion couture brand, you will be responsible for providing expert legal counsel and guidance to support the company's operations and strategic objectives. You will ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations while protecting the brand's interests and reputation. This role requires a thorough understanding of corporate law, intellectual property rights, contract negotiation, and risk management.
Salary: $120,000 per year
Work Schedule: Full-time/Part-time
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Counsel:
- Provide legal advice and guidance on a wide range of issues, including corporate governance, contracts, intellectual property, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to assess risks and provide recommendations to mitigate legal exposure.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect the company's interests.
Intellectual Property Protection:
- Manage and protect the brand's intellectual property rights, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
- Conduct trademark searches and registrations to ensure brand protection and enforcement.
- Handle any intellectual property disputes, including cease and desist letters and litigation.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the fashion industry and advise on compliance requirements.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, such as consumer protection, privacy, and environmental regulations.
Contract Management:
- Review and write contracts with vendors, suppliers, distributors, other business partners, VIP members, customers, and others.
- Ensure contracts are legally sound and in the best interest of the company.
- Regulate contract lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, and terminations.
Dispute Resolution:
- Supervise legal disputes and litigation, including negotiations, settlement discussions, and representation in court proceedings.
- Work closely with external legal counsel as needed to resolve disputes effectively and efficiently.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess legal risks associated with business operations and initiatives.
- Develop strategies to mitigate legal risks and protect the company from potential liabilities.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on legal compliance and risk management practices.
Qualifications:
- Degree from an accredited law school anywhere in the World.
- Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction is a plus.
- Experience practicing law, preferably in corporate or commercial law, with a focus on the fashion industry is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, intellectual property law, contract law, and regulatory compliance in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
