Purpose of consultancy:
As part of its mandate to mobilize resources for UNFPA’s three transformative goals, the Strategic Partnerships Branch (SPB) mobilizes resources from new and existing private sector partners. The Branch currently manages many high-value, longstanding, and multi-country partnerships with strategic partners, which require high-quality account management and stewardship of the relationship with the partner. This is a crucial pre-condition to enable the expansion of these partnerships and leverage additional resources for UNFPA priorities. The consultant will focus on supporting the effective stewardship of these partnerships to secure additional resources from existing partners.
The Partnership Management Consultant is responsible for the following:
- Support the day-to-day management and stewardship of the main foundation and corporate partners supporting UNFPA’s work.
- Plan and deliver activities foreseen in individual ‘partnership work plans’ and ensure the timely delivery of UNFPA commitments.
- Liaise with Country and Regional Offices to ensure the development and submission of quality progress and financial reports to strategic partners.
- Monitor the delivery of UNFPA commitments under each agreement with strategic partners.
- Coordinate donor engagement events to showcase and strengthen the partnership with key strategic partners.
- Develop new ‘asks’ and pitch proposals to existing partners.
- Propose innovative and creative ideas to strengthen partnerships with existing strategic partners.
- Participate in donor mapping to identify new business opportunities.
- Any other task as assigned by the supervisor.
Within the broad scope of work, as outlined above, the consultant is expected to deliver relevant activities on a timely basis, reliably, and accurately throughout the consultancy period. Specific deadlines, reports/deliverables will be on a need basis and communicated accordingly.
The consultant will report to the Strategic Partnerships Specialist in charge of the corporate partnerships portfolio, under the overall supervision of the Chief of the Strategic Partnerships Branch.
