Job Description
The Strategic Projects team sits in the Insurance Programs Operations (IPO) business unit of ISO. We are mainly responsible for maintaining the ratemaking systems used by our actuaries to produce advisory loss costs, and leading and contributing to highly visible, matrixed projects to both enhance and develop exciting new products and processes.
As a Lead Business Analyst on the Strategic Projects team, you will be responsible for leading ongoing operations support processes and improvement/enhancement projects on those processes, project managing cross-team initiatives, and supporting the Director in reporting and metrics.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple ongoing BAU processes that are staffed by our Process Improvement team in Krakow.
- Develop, own, and maintain project plans and roadmaps for new and ongoing projects, including maintaining tasks using JIRA, meeting regularly with team members to check in on progress, leading the resolution of any bugs or issues, and managing stakeholder expectations and priorities.
- Contribute to projects as needed, when your skillset and capacity aligns with project needs.
- Build up an understanding from the technical/customer/product owner perspectives of all products supported by the Strategic Projects/Process Improvement team.
- Support the Director of Strategic Projects in reporting on project status and metrics, and other ad hoc tasks to support strategic initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business information technology or related field required.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst/Associate, Project Manager, or related position required.
- Strong communication and organization skills required.
- Demonstrated leadership experience strongly preferred.
- At least 2 years of P&C insurance/actuarial experience preferred.
- Experience using project management tools such as JIRA or similar.
- Experience using modern database and information system technologies.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Sigma, etc.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Comfortable working through unclear requirements and changing priorities.
- Willingness to go outside of comfort zone and learn new skills.
