Are you an experienced Retirement Plan Consultant looking for a new challenge? We are excited to welcome a dedicated professional to our team in League City, TX (SSH). In this role, you will provide expert plan administration to our fee-for-service clients, oversee team workloads, and train staff in delivering top-notch administrative services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Annual Valuation: Determine eligibility, reconcile salary-deferral contributions, calculate employer contributions/forfeitures, and perform nondiscrimination testing.
- Government Filings: Ensure accurate and timely completion of annual government filings.
- Client Communication: Liaise with agents and plan sponsors to explain plan provisions, testing results, website access, and contract fees.
- Software Proficiency: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pension administration software and adhere to department procedures.
- Team Supervision: Oversee team workloads to ensure timely completion of tasks requested by plan sponsors.
- Staff Training: Train staff in all aspects of plan administration and regulatory compliance.
- Legislative Updates: Stay current on legislative and regulatory changes, and conduct review sessions to update staff.
- Research: Address legal and technical questions from staff, marketing, agents, and clients.
- Procedure Implementation: Develop and implement procedures in plan administration as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 8-10 years of experience with qualified retirement plans (defined benefit and defined contribution).
- Certifications: ASPPA designations (QKA, QPA, CPC, APA) are essential.
- Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong mathematical background, and proficient computer skills.
- Attributes: Analytical, organized, self-motivated, and able to multitask in a team-oriented environment.
- Leadership: Ability to effectively lead, mentor, and coach team members.
