About the position:
The Human Resources Consultant provides human resource services and consultation for Ahola clients on matters typically assigned to the human resource function within their own businesses. The Human Resources Consultant makes best practice recommendations for multiple clients, across a variety of industries. The HR Consultant provides tactical fundamental human resource support to the client's top management. The Human Resources Consultant monitors and directs client activity through continuous communication to create and develop strong business relationships, retain clients, and ensure quality service.
What you will do:
- Develop appropriate plan and provide ongoing support and human resources consultation for clients.
- Leverage tools and resources to provide templates, tools, and best practice information for clients.
- Develop and recommend a variety of human resource deliverables for clients such as handbooks, job descriptions, surveys, etc. Serve as a sounding board in validating the client's decision to implement these practices.
- Maintain knowledge of trends and changes in human resources legislation, and convey local, state, and federal laws to clients to maintain compliance.
- Continuously audit client human resources environments and identify (through client collaboration) opportunities for improvement in both business compliance and HR Technology (iSolved) optimization and satisfaction with the service offering.
- Regularly assess the value and effectiveness of the service offerings by determining and measuring key performance indicators.
How you will do it:
- Maintain client service data in the client relations management (CRM) database.
- Partner with in-company training, implementation, sales, tax and operations departments to ensure client satisfaction.
- Build strong client relationships and provides quality service in an effort to retain client base.
- Respond to all client inquiries regarding basic human resources concerns in a timely manner, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Experience you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field required. Human Resources Management degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Human Resources role, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Broad HR generalist background including coaching and counseling, performance management, employee involvement, teambuilding, as well as compensation, payroll operations and benefits.
- Strong interpersonal and consulting skills that will effectively address key issues among various small business clients
- Exhibit extraordinary discretion, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with Client's senior management team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients.
- Professional Human Resources certification a plus; PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP etc.
- Comfortable presenting to groups.

- Intermediate working knowledge of payroll and payroll best practices.

- Ability to be resourceful when faced with challenges and think outside the box.
- Ability to persevere; be positive during difficult or challenging situations.
