Summary:
Functions as an integral member of the clinical genetics team. Actively participates in all clinics, including the general genetics clinic, the prenatal genetics clinic, the cancer genetics clinic, offsite satellite clinics and several multidisciplinary clinics, including the Muscular Dystrophy Clinic and Spina Bifida Clinic, as appropriate for the particular counselor. Must be skilled in providing thorough and accurate genetic counseling to a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, individuals with intellectual disabilities, patients who are hearing impaired and patients who do not speak English. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
- Required: Master's Degree in Medical Genetics with a specialization in genetic counseling. Board Certified, or Board eligible, by the American Board of Medical Genetics.

Physical Demands:
May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job related documents. Ability to use computer.
