About This Organization
We are a non-profit organization committed to creating connections through the art of tea. We bring people together to explore, cultivate, and share an appreciation of tea, arts, and culture in a warm and inclusive environment. In a fast-paced world marked by increasing divisions and differences, we recognize the pressing need to create these safe spaces to engage in thoughtful dialogue, appreciate diverse perspectives, and forge lasting relationships. Tea is a conduit for cultural exchange, artistic expression, and mutual respect while bringing intention to the moment. By nurturing an appreciation for tea and its accompanying arts, we endeavor to create a world where the simple act of sharing the beauty of tea can catalyze positive change.
Our programs include seasonal public programs in NYC public parks, community engagement tea at community gardens around NYC, training, and the Golden Tea program at seniors centers.
HR Management - Create an Onboarding Guide for New Members
We are looking for a skilled volunteer to create an onboarding guidebook for new community members joining the team, board, and committees so that they can be introduced to the organization properly and fit into their roles smoothly.
We are ready to grow our board/committees and help team members find their best role in the organization in 2024. With more people joining and moving around in the community, we think it is super important to help them ease into their roles by welcoming them to the organization in an organized and intentional way. It is also a good practice for everyone who is already involved in the work to find more connection and meaning in their roles.
Knowing the people and community we have are our biggest assets in the organization. We have planned to dedicate major portions of our work in the upcoming autumn and winter season to organizational strategic planning, training, and team building. Our team members are committed to the mission, and we are ready to do the necessary work to build a strong foundation for us to grow.
We Have The Following Materials To Share
- Draft of the Community Agreement
- Mission Statement and Goals
- Current Organizational Chart
- A full packet of the marketing materials when needed, including website, program description, IG, newsletter
- Impact Report 2022
- A Google Suite folder with communications, photo/video archives
- A team portal setup on the website
- Monthly team meetings & quarterly board meeting
- Two special committees are planned to kick off in 2024
After the project is complete, we are going to implement it with the following steps:
- Introduce to the team and get feedback for adjustment
- Implement it with the new team members joining the community
- Review with the current team/board members and amend the work that hasn't been done properly while they settle into the new roles in the org
This project can be done remotely.
