We are seeking high functioning and energetic candidates for a full-time Wealth Consultant position on our national business development team in the New York Metro region. The Wealth Consultant is responsible for supporting a Senior Wealth Consultant in generating new business opportunities to drive revenue and market growth.
Responsibilities
- Support a Senior Wealth Consultant in achieving revenue and profitability goals
- Generate new business opportunities in Mariner’s referral partner programs
- Communicate Mariner’s offering, value proposition, solutions and services to referral partner representatives and their clients
- Conduct regular calls and periodic presentations of Mariner’s services to referral partner representatives
- Profile and understand prospective client needs and match those requirements to Mariner’s offerings
- Ensure effective and complete communication with prospective clients and referral partners
- Engage and communicate prospective client needs with Mariner’s wealth advisory teams
- Represent and communicate various investment strategies and solutions to prospective clients and referral partner representatives
- Develop and maintain a high-level understanding of Mariner’s advisory solutions, investment offerings and wealth management services
- Manage referral pipelines, coordinate business development events and prepare proposals/presentations
- Keep abreast of current industry trends and potential development opportunities
- Leverage key relationships within referral partner programs to generate leads and facilitate introductions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or other related field from an accredited college or university
- 2+ years’ experience in the financial services industry
- Series 65, or CFP required
Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrated knowledge and facilitation of sales cycle / process
- Problem solving, negotiation and persuasive communication skills
- Effective written communication skills with ability to adapt to different audiences
- Effective oral communication skills with ability to address individuals and groups in formal and informal settings
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients, prospective clients, internal and community contacts
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Travel up to 10-15%
